Synthesis and reactivity of alkynyl aluminum derivatives

The chemistry of organoaluminum derivatives remains relatively underdeveloped compared to conventional organometallic reagents (organolithium derivatives, Grignard reagents, organozinc and organocopper compounds…). The high Lewis acidity of the organoaluminum reagents, combined with their low nucleophilicity, makes them powerful tools for the selective transformations of several functional groups. We are particularly interested in studying the reactivity of aluminum dialkylalkynes, prepared according to an original synthetic route developed in the laboratory.
